A new blog about the Gospel of Jesus Christ

I recently read a book about something called the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit by a Korean pastor, Paul C. Jong.

In his book, Pastor Jong  emphasizes the importance of Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist. Considering the important place that Matthew, Mark and Luke give their stories about the baptism, I was surprised to realize I had never heard of any importance to this interaction, except that it initiated Jesus’ ministry.

Pastor Jong has more to say about Jesus’ baptism than I have ever heard before. He points that John the Baptist is a descendant of Aaron, of the line of Priests.  The main point of the book is that Jesus took on our sins at the moment John the Baptist laid hands on him and baptised him. In a fulfillment of the sacrifices of the law, the sins of all the world word placed on Jesus at that time.

This was an outstanding revelation to me. I had never before wondered about how Jesus fulfilled this aspect of the Old Testament Law.

As I read more and understand more, I will be updating this blog.
